DAVE BUROW, CO-FOUNDER AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Dave Burow is the Co-Founder and CEO of CloudOpt, Inc. Beginning his career at IBM, he has more than 25 years of senior management experience in semiconductor, technical software and Internet service companies. In addition to holding SVP/GM positions at public companies Synopsys and Viewlogic, Dave has been CEO of a number of venture capital-backed start-ups including Catalytic, Arithmatica, CrossCheck Technology and SimuCAD and was COO at Silicon Architects.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. Presently an advisor to Embrane, a network services software start-up, Dave also serves on the Board of Directors of Numetrics Management Systems Inc.

JOE HICKS, CO-FOUNDER AND BOARD MEMBER

Joe Hicks is the Co-Founder of CloudOpt, Inc. Prior to CloudOpt, Joe was most recently a Senior Product Manager at F5 Networks, where he was responsible for the Acceleration and WAN Optimization product lines. Joining during F5's startup phase, Joe was instrumental in driving growth while serving both in technical and sales engineering roles. In technical roles at F5, including Principal Network Engineer, he designed, implemented and troubleshot some of the largest and most complex networks at enterprises and websites around the world. In his sales engineering roles, he re-opened critical markets in Asia Pacific including China, Australia-New Zealand, and Latin America. Prior to F5 Networks, Joe held technical positions at several large enterprises, including Qwest Communications, PPG Industries, and Merck.

MARK MCKEOWN, PH.D., CONSULTANT

Mark McKeown is the Principal Architect of CloudOpt, Inc, with more than 15 years software development and architecture experience as well as expertise in developing WAN optimization and networking software.

An expert on Application Acceleration and WAN Optimization, Mark has published numerous articles and papers in the fields of Grid computing, Web Services, Representational State Transfer (REST), and distributed computing. He has served on the OASIS technical committee for WS-RF; published articles in Communications of ACM (CACM); won numerous awards for designing grid systems, including SuperComputing Grand Challenges; and designing HARC, a fault tolerant Grid co-allocation system based on Paxos Commit and REST that is currently used on the US TerraGrid and the UK National Grid Service.

Mark holds a PhD in theoretical computational physics from Queens University, Belfast.

DAVE ASPREY, VICE PRESIDENT OF CLOUD SECURITY, TREND MICRO

Dave has worked in cloud computing, security, and virtualization for more than 10 years as a senior executive at a mix of service providers, software, and networking companies including Exodus (Savvis), Citrix (NetScaler), Akamai (Speedera), and Zeus (Riverbed). He ran strategic development for Citrix's virtualization business unit and has held various roles in his career such as VP Marketing, Product Manager, VP of Business Development, VP of Technology, and VP of Corporate Development. Dave has also been an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) at Trinity Ventures.

Dave created two early cloud offerings and is a prolific speaker and blogger. His cloud writing has been published by the New York Times, GigaOm, Fortune, and PWC.

NICK HEYMAN, FORMER DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, FACEBOOK, PLAYDOM & TWITTER

Nick is a Web-scale Infrastructure expert who was in charge of operations at Facebook, Playdom, and Twitter. He handled Facebook's explosive traffic when the site grew from 3 million to 13 million users and beyond. Earlier in his career, he brought his operations expertise to Homestead, Friendster, Feedster, Videoegg, and Zazzle. He is also a member of Webmonsters.

ERIK GIESA, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING, EXTRAHOP NETWORKS

Erik guides market strategy and execution with a focus on helping customers transform their IT operations through ExtraHop’s unique network-based approach to application performance management. Erik offers keen insight into the goals and requirements of enterprise IT organizations and ensures ExtraHop meets those needs.

Prior to joining Extrahop, Erik was Senior Vice President of Product Management and Product Marketing at F5 Networks where he defined product, marketing, and solution strategy for all F5 products. Erik drove several successful acquisitions to build F5's product portfolio; formed key vendor partnerships with Microsoft, VMware, and Oracle, among others; and led the creation of the popular DevCentral user community and F5's International Technology Centers. Erik also held executive positions in product management, marketing, and sales at Holistix, WRQ, Express Systems, and hDC.
